April TBW: 20 Most Anticipated TV Shows and Movies

Spring is upon us and so are a ton of new releases! We don’t want you to miss a thing so Pop Culture Planet’s Jordan Bohan breaks down all the new releases for April and where to watch them.

All American

This football-themed teen drama is back with more twists and turns. The Beverly Hills family must navigate new challenges as Spencer and Jordan are officially eligible to enter the NFL draft.

All American season 6 premieres on The CW on April 1. 


American Horror Story: Delicate Part 2

Delicate is back and more chilling than ever! Kim Kardashian’s character Siobhan will seemingly reveal her underlying and evil intention with Anna (Emma Roberts). Meanwhile, Anna is preparing to have a… spider baby?

American Horror Story: Delicate Part 2 premieres on FX on April 3.


Ripley

The series comes from Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Talented Mr. Ripley that was previously adapted into a five time Academy Award-nominated film. This time, Andrew Scott stars in the black and white role of Ripley.

Ripley hits Netflix on April 4.


Monkey Man

Dev Patel makes his directorial debut with Monkey Man as a young man who makes a living in an underground fight club where he's beaten bloody for cash all while wearing a gorilla mask. After years of suppressed rage, his childhood trauma boils over and his mysteriously scarred hands unleash violence to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.

Monkey Man hits theaters on April 5.


Sugar

John Sugar (Colin Farrell) is an American private investigator residing in the star-studded streets of Los Angeles. He is tasked with finding Olivia Siegel (Sydney Chandler), daughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel (James Cromwell), who mysteriously disappeared. As he attempts to find the missing woman, Sugar discovers various Siegel family secrets both new and old, threatening his ability to find Olivia.

Sugar premieres on Apple TV+ on April 5.


The First Omen

A new horror movie is on the scene! In The First Omen, a woman starts to question her own faith when she uncovers a terrifying conspiracy to bring about the birth of evil incarnate in Rome.

The First Omen comes to theaters on April 5.


Chucky Season 3 Part 2

Chucky returns to the White House and our screens this April! Will he survive to kill another day or will old age finally get him?

Chucky Season 3 Part 2 hits Syfy and Peacock on April 10.


Heartbreak High Season 2

Heartbreak High is back for a second season! We will continue to see this group of teens navigate love, sex, and heartbreak at Hartley High.

Heartbreak High season 2 hits Netflix on April 11.


Civil War

A24’s highly anticipated dystopian film Civil War is almost here! In a dystopian American future, a team of military journalists race against time to reach Washington, D.C. before rebel factions descend upon the White House.

Civil War hits theaters on April 12. 


Fallout

Based on the best-selling video game, Fallout follows a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles brought about by nuclear decimation. Citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits.

Fallout premieres on Prime Video on April 12.


Arcadian

Paul (Nicolas Cage) and his twin sons (Maxwell Jenkins and Jaeden Martell) find tranquility by day but terror by night when ferocious creatures awaken and consume all living creatures in this decimated earth. When Paul is nearly killed, the boys come up with a plan for survival by using everything their father taught them to keep the family together and their dad alive.

Arcadian hits theaters April 12. 


Sasquatch Sunset

Riley Keough and Jesse Eisenberg are Sasquatches. Yes, you read that right. In the misty and remote forests of North America, a family of Sasquatches find themselves on a collision course with the ever-changing world around them.

Sasquatch Sunset hits theaters April 12. 


Sting

Young and rebellious Charlotte finds a tiny spider in her rundown apartment building. She keeps it in a jar, but it starts to grow at a monstrous rate and develop an insatiable appetite for blood. As her neighbors begin to disappear, Charlotte and her family find themselves in a desperate fight for their lives against a ravenous arachnid with a hunger only for humans.

Sting hits theaters April 12.


Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead

A remake of the 1991 film of the same name, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead follows Tanya who finds her summer plans canceled when her mom jets off for a last-minute retreat and the elderly babysitter who arrives at her door unexpectedly passes away.

Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead comes to theaters April 12. 


Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver

Quickly following the release of Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child Of Fire that premiered in December, part two finds Kora and the surviving warriors preparing to defend their new home Veldt against the Realm. The warriors face their pasts, revealing their motivations before the Realm's forces arrive to crush the growing rebellion.

Rebel Moon - Part 2 hits Netflix on April 19. 


Abigail

A 12-year-old daughter of a powerful underworld figure is kidnapped by a group of criminals. Holding her for ransom in an isolated mansion, their plan starts to go awry when they discover their young captive is actually a bloodthirsty vampire.

Abigail comes to theaters on April 19.


Dead Boy Detectives

Based on the beloved comic series from Neil Gaiman, Dead Boy Detectives follows ghosts Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), the brains and brawn of the Dead Boy Detectives agency. A clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and new friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura) offer their help to solve crimes in the mortal realm.

Dead Boy Detectives is streaming on Netflix on April 25.


Challengers

The romantic sports film stars Zendaya as Tashi Dunca, a tennis prodigy-turned-coach due to injury. She is unapologetically herself and marries a fellow tennis champion (Mike Faist) who is on a losing streak. Their strategy takes a turn when Tashi’s husband must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor), his former best friend and her former boyfriend. Tensions run high as their past and present lives collide, and the couple asks themselves what it will take to win.

Challengers hits theaters on April 26.


Boy Kills World

Boy (Bill Skarsgård) is a deaf person with a vibrant imagination. After being trained by a mysterious shaman, Boy becomes an instrument of death after his family is murdered.

Boy Kills World hits theaters April 26.


Knuckles

Beloved Sonic side character Knuckles is getting his own show! In the series, Knuckles the Echidna teaches deputy Wade Whipple the techniques of the Echidna warrior.

Knuckles premieres on Paramount+ on April 26.
