Ready for Love in Spain? Hallmark Channel Announces To Barcelona, With Love and To Barcelona, Forever
Get ready for sun-soaked romance and heartwarming friendships set entirely in gorgeous Barcelona, Spain! Hallmark Channel favorites Alison Sweeney and Ashley Williams team up for two brand-new Hallmark originals in the Passport to Love event: To Barcelona, With Love and To Barcelona, Forever.
The first to premiere is To Barcelona, With Love where Sweeney plays Erica, an American living in Barcelona who translates novels into Spanish. She bonds with author Anna (Williams) after her translation helps her book become a massive success. When the two meet, they start a friendship that helps them go after their dreams. Five months after their first adventure, To Barcelona, Forever follows the pair as they head outside the city of Barcelona and one of them finds love in the most unexpected place.
Williams shared how Sweeney became the best work partner she ever had on set. “Ali and I came up together in soaps and I’ve always admired her talent, wisdom, and prolific career. She’s the kinda gal who celebrated my wins and noticed my strengths,” Williams said in a statement. “We realized a few years ago that our strengths may even complement each other and started looking for something to work on together. Developing, prepping, shooting and posting these movies by her side was like finding a partner I never knew I needed. We both approach our work with ferocious dedication, tireless innovation, and we keep each other humble and always remember to laugh. I couldn’t be more proud of the movies we made with this creative spirit and have a feeling they are the first of many. Can’t wait for you all to see and feel the joy we experienced!”
Sweeney, who previously starred in Hallmark’s hit The Wedding Veil trilogy, is just as thrilled to be behind the scenes this time. “Working with Ashley on these projects has been a dream come true. I loved working in Spain and meeting so many incredibly talented people who helped us make this all possible,” Sweeney began. “Craig Baumgarten and I have done a lot of these movies — but working with Ashley as a producing partner and an actress, it has also been entirely delightful!! She is so talented and funny and delivers such a heartfelt performance in both movies. I felt so lucky for every scene I had with her!”
