Apple TV Releases First Look Photos and Premiere Date For World World II Series Masters of the Air

Apple TV+ unveils the first images of its upcoming drama series Masters of the Air. From Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman coms an action-packed limited series based off the book by Donald L. Miller.

The World War II series will feature nine episodes following the true story of an American Bomber group throughout the war. It focuses on the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct bombing raids over Nazi Germany and endure unbearable conditions and lack of oxygen while in combat at 25,000 feet in the air. It portrays the psychological and emotional toll paid by these young men as they helped in the war effort. Alongside the star-studded producer group, the series also stars Academy Award-nominee Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Rafferty Law, Academy Award-nominee Barry Keoghan, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook, and Ncuti Gatwa.

Masters of the Air is a salute to the brave men of the 8th Air Force, who, through their courage and brotherhood, helped defeat Nazi Germany in World War II,” shared executive producer Gary Goetzman. “Tom and Steven have always wanted to visualize cinematically what our author Don Miller has called, this ‘singular event in the history of warfare.’ We’re thrilled that Apple TV+ has given us the opportunity to combine the efforts of so many talented people, on-screen and behind the camera, to tell this important story.”

Ranging in location from the fields and villages of southeast England, to a German Prisoner of War Camp, Masters of the Air promises to be a cinematic achievement that depicts what these young men had to go through with a emphasis on vivid detail and the environment in which the series is set.

Masters of the Air will premiere January 26, 2024 on Apple TV+ with two episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday through March 15.
