Here’s Everything You Missed At San Diego Comic-Con 2023

With the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, it is clear that San Diego Comic-Con felt a bit different this year. Without the celebrity panels and some large brand representation, it was unclear whether the scale of the event would be as big as usual. That all being said, fans showed up at San Diego Comic-Con and brands delivered on some big announcements, sneak peeks, and first looks at upcoming shows and movies.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Paramount shared a sneak peek clip of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The movie hits theaters August 2. 


The Marvels

Marvel shared the trailer for The Marvels. The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Samuel L. Jackson.

The Marvels hits theaters this fall. 


A Haunting in Venice

Fans got to see the trailer for this new supernatural thriller based on Agatha Christie’s novel Hallowe’en Party. The film features a star studded cast including Michelle Yeoh, Tina Fey, Jamie Dornan, Jude Hill, Emma Laird, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ali Khan, Kelly Reilly, Camille Cottin and Kyle Allen.

A Haunting in Venice hits theaters on September 15.


Solar Opposites

Hulu shared the trailer for the fourth season of Solar Opposites. The animated series follows a team of four aliens escaping from their exploding home only to crash into suburban America.

The Hulu show returns on August 14.


Migration

The creators of Minions, Despicable Me, Sing, and The Secret Life of Pets bring you Migration.

The animated film hits theaters on December 22. 


Killing It

Peacock shared the trailer for season 2 of Killing It. The comedy stars Craig Robinson, Claudia O’Doherty, Rell Battle, Scott MacArthus, and Stephanie Nogueras.

Season 2 hits Peacock on August 17.


Krapopolis

Fox shared the trailer for their newest animated series Krapopolis.

The series premieres on September 24 on Fox. 


Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake 

Based on characters from the beloved Adventure Time franchise, the brand new ten-episode series follows alternate universe versions of Finn and Jake on a multiverse journey. When Fionna and Cake run into their new foe, the duo seeks help from former Ice King Simon Petrikov. Voices include Madeleine Martin, Roz Ryan, Tom Kenny, Andrew Rannells, Donald Glover, Kayleigh Mckee, Sean Rohani, and others.

The animated series debuts August 31 on Max


Young Love 

Young Love expands upon the Oscar-winning animated short Hair Love. The all new original series is an honest look into the world of the Young family. Millennial parents Stephen and Angela juggle their careers, marriage, parenthood, and social issues while raising their daughter Zuri. Voices include ScottKid CudiMescudi, Issa Rae, Loretta Devine, Harry Lennix, Tamar Braxton and Brooke Monroe Conaway.

The animated series debuts this fall on Max. 


Harley Quinn 

The adult animated comedy follows Harley Quinn as she copes with her breakup from The Joker. With the help of Poison Ivy and the crew of DC castoffs, Harley attempts to work her way into the Legion of Doom before finding her true place in Gotham City. Voices include Kaley Cuoco, Alan Tudyk, Lake Bell, Christopher Meloni, Ron Funches, JB Smoove, Tony Hale, and others.

Season 4 debuts on Max on July 27. 


Star Trek: Discovery

Paramount+ shared an exclusive clip from the final season of Star Trek: Discovery.

The fifth and final season is coming in 2024.


Star Trek: Lower Decks

The fourth season premieres September 7 on Paramount+.


Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Paramount+ shared the trailer for the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

The series premieres on August 3. 


Heels 

Starz shared a sneak peek at season 2 of Heels.

Season 2 premieres July 28.


Legend of the White Dragon

The trailer for Legend of the White Dragon premiered this past weekend. The film stars Jason David Frank, Aaron Schoenke, Chalet Lizette Brannan, Mayling Ng, Mark Dacascos, Cerina Vincent, and more.

It hits theaters in 2024.


Perpetrator

Jonny unravels her family’s feral secret in Perpetrator.

The movie premieres September 1 on Shudder


The Wheel of Time 

Prime Video shared the official trailer for season two of The Wheel of Time.

Season 2 arrives on September 1.


The Monkey King

Netflix shared the trailer for their new action-packed family comedy, The Monkey King. The series stars the voices of Bowen Yang and Jimmy O. Yang.

The series premieres August 11.


The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Lived

Rick and Michonnes’s story continues in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Lived.

The AMC show is to be released in 2024.


The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

The series premieres on AMC and AMC+ on September 10.

AMC shared plans for the second season of The Walking Dead: Dead City.

The second season release date has yet to be confirmed.

The new season is to be released in 2024 on AMC and AMC+. 


Rick and Morty: The Anime

Adult Swim shared a first look at their new series Rick and Morty: The Anime.

The new 10-episode show has not yet confirmed a release date. 


One Piece

Netflix shared the official trailer for their manga adaptation, One Piece.

The series premieres August 31.

Prime Video shared the teaser trailer for the second season of Invincible.

Season 2 premieres on November 3.

Lazarus

Adult Swim shared the trailer for their new animated series, Lazarus. Release date for the series is yet to be announced.
