Get Your First Look At New Musicals Kimberly Akimbo and Between The Lines

Broadway is back and a new slate of musicals are hitting the Great White Way! While at BroadwayCon, we got a first look at two new musicals gearing up for their big debuts at the BroadwayCon First Look Performances panel: Kimberly Akimbo and Between the Lines. Both musicals feature strong young women trying to find their place in the world with Bonnie Milligan performing “Better” from Kimberly Akimbo and Arielle Jacobs and Wren Rivera tackling the rocking duet “Allie McAndrews” from Between The Lines.

Between The Lines

Based on the book by New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult and her daughter Samantha van Leer comes the Off-Broadway show Between the Lines.

Led by Arielle Jacobs, Jake David Smith, and Wren Rivera, Between The Lines is an empowering and enchanting new musical for anyone seeking to find their place in the world. An outsider in a new school, Delilah finds comfort in the pages of her favorite book. As the lines between reality and fantasy begin to blur, Delilah must confront whether she alone has the power to rewrite her own story.

The show is currently playing at the Tony Kiser Theatre from now to October.

Kimberly Akimbo

Kimberly Akimbo is a new musical from Tony Award winner Jeanine Tesori and Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, based on the critically-acclaimed play of the same name.

The musical follows bright and funny Jersey teen Kim, who happens to look like a 72-year-old lady. Her aging disease is the least of her problems as she is forced to maneuver family secrets, borderline personalities, and possible felony charges. In a world where not even time is on her side, Kim is determined to find happiness.

The cast from the Atlantic Theater Company — including Victoria Clark and Bonnie Milligan — makes its move to Broadway with performances scheduled to begin October 12, 2022 with an opening on November 10, 2022.
