With Halloween quickly approaching and crisp, fall weather right around the corner, cozying up in front of the TV sounds ideal. But, if you’re not a fan of the horror genre or watching a full movie, what do you flick on? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. I brewed up a list of some of my favorite Halloween episodes from my favorite sitcoms — because let's face it, not everyone wants to hear “redrum” in a spine-chilling voice that will give you nightmares. So, treat yourself to these scary funny episodes!

In classic Community style, the show pulled out all of the stops to create a zombie-like movie in 21 minutes. Watch on Netflix or Hulu.

The Office Season 2, Episode 5: “Halloween”

Parks and Recreation Season 4, Episode 5: “Meet and Greet”

While Leslie Knope is hard at work obtaining votes from her town’s local business community, April and Andy host a big Halloween party at their house, or should I say… the house that they share with Ben. Freaks and Geeks Season 1, Episode 3: “Tricks and Treats”

Sam knows trick-or-treating is not socially acceptable for anyone in high school (can we change that, please?) and wants one last Halloween where he can trick-or-treat before he’s too old. Lindsay and her friends take a less wholesome approach and begin wreaking havoc. Halloween plans end up being derailed for Lindsay, Sam, and even their parents.

Abbott Elementary Season, Episode 6: “Candy Zombies”

The teachers of Abbott Elementary are all dressed up and eager to celebrate Halloween with their students. In order to avoid a sugar rush that would plague the whole school, the teachers plan to hand out the candy at the end of the day, but the candy suddenly disappears and all of the students are off-the-wall hyper. The teachers must find out who did this — all while wearing hilarious costumes tailored to their personalities.

Lizzie McGuire Season 1, Episode 24: “Night of the Day of the Dead”

Lizzie's school is putting on a big Halloween party for all of the students, but when they leave Kate in charge of the planning spooky things start to happen. Miranda ends up bringing ancestral skeleton decorations for the big night, but Kate yells at Miranda to get rid of the “junk” she brought. After their argument, the night takes a frightful turn. Could it be the work of the spirits of the skeletons? You’ll have to watch this piece of nostalgia to find out!
