With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, why not enjoy some classic sitcoms celebrating the Celtic holiday? Pop Culture Planet contributor Paola Cardenas breaks down St. Patrick’s Day TV episodes to watch. 

The Office | “Saint Patrick’s Day” (Season 6, Episode 19) 

Everyone is excited to celebrate this much needed holiday after work in The Office! The office is decorated and people are dressed up in green for the day. Jim (John Krasinski) comes back from paternity leave, but begins to miss Pam (Jenna Fischer) and his daughter Cecilia. Dwight decides to use this to his advantage. Meanwhile, it’s Jo Bennett’s (Kathy Bates) last day at the branch and she makes the staff work late which angers everyone.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia | “Charlie Catches a Leprechaun” (Season 11, Episode 8)

In this It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode, Dennis (Glenn Howerton) wants to bring in more business at The Paddy Pub, so he decides to invent Paddy’s Wagon — a truck that serves as a portable pub. However, he has to convince Frank (Danny DeVito) that it’s a good idea. Meanwhile Charlie (Charlie Day) and Mac (Rob McElhenney) try to catch a sneaky thieving Leprechaun and the gang struggles to keep up with demanding customers.

Bob’s Burgers | “Flat-Top O’ the Morning to Ya” (Season 10, Episode 16)

What could the Belcher’s be up to now in Bob's Burgers? Crazy antics as usual. 

Bob (H. John Benjamin) and the kids attend a liquidation auction for a failed restaurant, Beachum BBQ. Bob starts to worry about his restaurant meeting the same fate, but decides to help get a flat top grill back for the owner Jules. Back at the restaurant, Linda (John Roberts) and Teddy (Larry Murphy) get wrapped in the holiday spirit and decide to turn all the food and drinks green. After drinking a lot of green beer, their wacky minds start to make poor business decisions.

2 Broke Girls | “And the Kilt Trip” (Season 3, Episode 19)

The crew from Han’s Diner go from Williamsburg to Manhattan for a wild night out on St. Patrick’s Day. While Max (Kat Dennings) and the rest are indulging in the fun, Caroline (Beth Behrs) is trying to fit in, but ultimately pines for her days of drinking fancy cocktails at the Plaza Hotel. 


Sabrina the Teenage Witch | “Salem, the Boy” (Season 3, Episode 17)

Roland is back! 

In Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Rolanda returns as a leprechaun. He gives Sabrina (Melissa Joan Hart) three golden coupons for three wishes of her choice. Salem (Nick Bakay) has been moping around as he wishes he could be human again. Hilda (Caroline Rhea) and Zelda (Beth Broderick) decide to recreate his favorite party, but accidentally summon Roman Emperor Caligula. Sabrina uses one of her wishes to turn Salem back into a human. However, things start to go awry when Salem’s new persona Gordie wants to take over the school, the city, and the world.

South Park | "Credigree Weed St. Patrick's Day Special" (Season 25, Episode 6)

It’s the battle of marijuana farms for St. Patrick’s Day. South Park starts with Randy Marsh (Trey Parker) preparing the release of a new blend for Tegridy Farms while neighbor Steve Black owns Credigree Weed. The two try to out-do one another until Randy is thrown into jail for cultural appropriation with Butters (Matt Stone) who pinched a fellow student for not wearing green.

CSI: New York | "Pot of Gold" (Season 6, Episode 17) 

In a mood to solve crime? 

This CSI: New York episode follows a double homicide on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day. The investigators find out one was a popular blogger, with the other not identified. Inspecting the scene, Stella (Melina Kanakaredes) finds gold and Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) finds a four leaf clover in a shoe print. These Irish-themed findings lead them to their suspect at a St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Grounded For Life | “It’s Hard To Be A Saint In The City” (Season 4, Episode 22) 

There’s another bar in dire need of help in Grounded For Life

The Red Boot Pub is on its last legs to generate profit for St. Patrick’s Day. Sean (Donal Logue) decides that if they don’t get business to turn around, the bar will be sold, and Eddie (Kevin Corrigan) desperately wants to save the pub despite its financial struggles. When Brad’s (Bret Harrison) Science club is crafting a parade float, Sister Helen stresses her desire to win the trophy which makes Brad nervous about the outcome.
