The Emmy award winning series Hacks is back!

The comedy series returns for its highly anticipated third season on May 2 on Max. This new season will debut with nine total episodes, airing two new episodes each week, and concluding with the season finale on May 30. I personally have been long awaiting this announcement. The first and second season of Hacks somehow made me cry, laugh, and question my entire life path — all at once.

Season 3 will be set a year after Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) parted ways after the massive success of Deborah’s stand up show. Deborah is seemingly riding high off the success of her special, while Ava pursues new opportunities back in Los Angeles. In this sneak peak of season 3, we get a glimpse of Deborah and Ava’s current lives and the good news is that it seems as though fame and success have not changed them one bit. In fact, we can see Ava explaining to a frazzled Deborah that her content has stirred up some controversy — ah, just like old times!

Returning to season 3 alongside Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder are Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Kaitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, and Lorenza Izzo. This upcoming season also has a stacked list of guest starts including Helen Hunt, Christina Hendricks, Christopher Lloyd, Dan Bucatinsky, George Wallace, and Tony Goldwyn — and here I was thinking this show couldn’t possibly get any better!

To catch up on all things Hacks, season 1 and 2 are now streaming on Max.
