Millie Bobby Brown Is A Sacrifice In Damsel Trailer

Who said fairytales have to be covered in glitter and pink? Millie Bobby Brown is the perfect person to take us into this twisted tale, as she is no stranger to battling it out with strange creatures. In the trailer for the Netflix movie Damsel, a princess marries a prince thinking she’s found what everyone wants. But when she's hurled into a cave with a monstrous fire-breathing dragon, her fairytale turns into a chilling nightmare.

Princess Elodie, played by Brown, is thrown into this arranged marriage as a duty to her family. And though she is willing, her stepmother isn’t so convinced she’ll be safe. Prince Henry’s (Nick Robinson) regal family may dazzle in royal attire and precious jewels, but beneath their facade lie buried secrets. At the ceremony of their marriage, Elodie is swung across the bridge into a dark abyss. Though forced into this ritual in the name of “legacy of honor and duty,” she isn’t willing to be a sacrifice. Swapping her corset for a dagger, she prepares herself for a fight. This isn’t just a fight for her life, but a fight for the women before her destroyed by generations of darkness.

Angela Bassett plays Elodie’s stepmother, while Robin Wright plays Elodie’s formidable mother-in-law. As tensions escalate, both mothers brace for a showdown, unwilling to witness their family's demise.

Damsel premieres March 8 on Netflix.
