February TBW: 15 Most Anticipated TV Shows and Movies

Post-strike 2024 is looking to be one of the most populated years for movies and television. Productions being pushed along with releases means there will be no shortage of things to watch this year. Pop Culture Planet contributor Jordan Bohan breaks down your new TBW, or To Be Watched, of the most anticipated tv shows and movies coming out this February.

The Tourist

A man (Jamie Dornan) wakes up in the Australian outback with no memory. He is forced to use only a few clues to rediscover his identity before his past catches up to him.

The Tourist premieres on Netflix on February 1. 


Argylle

Shy author Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard) wrote a series of best-selling espionage novels. Her recluse tendencies of homebody nights with her computer and cat take a turn when the plot of her fictional books begin to mirror the real-life events of a spy organization. The real life secret agent Argylle (Sam Rockwell) is on a mission to unravel a global spy syndicate, so he takes Elly and Alfie under his wing to race across the world and try to stay one step ahead of the killers as Elly’s fictional world and her real one begin to mix.

Argylle hits theaters February 2. 


Orion and the Dark

Orion (Jacob Tremblay) is afraid of everything, but the thing he fears most is the dark. When Dark (Paul Walter Hauser) pays him a visit, he whisks Orion away on a roller coaster of an adventure to prove there’s nothing to be afraid of, especially at night. 

Orion and the Dark debuts on Netflix on February 2.


Mr. and Mrs. Smith

A mysterious spy agency offers two strangers a glamorous life of wealth, espionage, and world travels. The catch is that the new identities are in an arranged marriage as Mr. & Mrs. John (Donald Glover) and Jane Smith (Maya Erskine). The couple must navigate high risk missions every week while facing relationship milestones. Their cover story is put at risk when they begin to have real feelings for one another. 

Mr. and Mrs. Smith remieres on Prime Video on February 2.


Abbott Elementary

Emmy award winning comedy series Abbott Elementary is back for its third season. Following the teachers and students of Abbott Elementary school, this series is hilarious, heartfelt, and an homage to educators everywhere. 

Abbott Elementary returns to ABC on February 7.


Halo

An alien threat known as the Covenant reigns terror over humanity in the 26th century. Based on the 2001 Xbox game, humans must fight against the Covenant to restore freedom and save their future.

Halo returns for a new season on Paramount+ on February 8.


Lisa Frankenstein

Lisa Frankenstein follows an angsty teen (Kathryn Newton) as she accidentally brings a corpse to life, who turns out to be the man of her dreams (Cole Sprouse). With an outstanding cast and colorful backdrop of the late 70s, Lisa Frankenstein is sure to be a can’t miss.

Lisa Frankenstein hits theaters February 9.


Marmalade

Marmalade is a Bonnie and Clyde-esque crime romance that follows the recently incarcerated Baron (Joe Keery) who strikes up a friendship with his cellmate Otis (Aldis Hodge), a man with a well-versed history of prison breaks. The pair plan an escape together as Baron recalls the story of how he met the love of his life Marmalade (Camila Morrone). The couple schemed to rob a bank in order to care for his sick mother and give the two the life they’ve always dreamed of.

Marmalade hits theaters February 9.


Suncoast

A teenager (Nico Parker) is balancing caring for her brother along with her mother (Laura Linney) when she strikes up an unlikely friendship. She meets eccentric activist (Woody Harrelson) who is protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time.

Suncoast premieres on Hulu on February 9.


Upgraded

Ana (Camila Mendes) is an ambitious intern trying to impress her demanding boss Claire (Marisa Tomei) as she dreams of a career in the art world. While traveling for work she's unexpectedly upgraded to first class and she meets Will (Archie Renaux), who mistakes Ana for her boss. This white lie sets off a glamorous chain of events, romance and opportunity, until her secret threatens to come out.

Upgraded premieres on Prime Video on February 9.


Love Is Blind

The hit dating show that took the Internet by storm is back for its sixth season. Single men and women try to fall in love with a person whose face they’ve never seen.

Love Is Blind season 6 premieres on Netflix on February 14.


Madame Web

Cassandra Webb (Dakota Johnson) is a New York City paramedic who realizes she is a clairvoyant. When she is forced to confront her past, she must use her powers to protect three young women with powerful futures from a mysterious villain who wants them dead. Madame Web also stars Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott.

Madame Web hits theaters on February 14.


Players

New York based sportswriter Mack (Gina Rodriguez) has wasted her time creating hook-up “plays” with her best friend Adam (Damon Wayans Jr.). Their attempts have led to countless flings and hook-ups, with their ultimate rule being that you can’t build a relationship from a play. When Mack falls for her latest target Nick (Tom Ellis), she starts to rethink the game. Players also stars Joel Courtney, Augustus Prew, Liza Koshy, Ego Nwodim, and Marin Hinkle.

Players premieres on Netflix on February 14.


Bob Marley: One Love

Experience Bob Marley’s powerful story of overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music for the first time on screen.

Bob Marley: One Love hits theaters on February 14.


Ghosts

A countryside bed and breakfast is inhabited by the numerous spirits of deceased residents. The departed are an eclectic group of friends with varying backgrounds. After a near death experience, new owner Samantha is able to see and hear the ghosts who all become an unlikely found family.

Ghosts season 3 premieres on CBS on February 15.


Constellation

When astronaut Jo (Noomi Rapace) returns to Earth after a disaster in space, she discovers that key pieces of her life seem to be missing. Jo desperately tries to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover everything she has lost.

Constellation premieres on Apple TV+ on February 21. 


Avatar: The Last Airbender 

The new Avatar: The Last Airbender series is a live-action reimagining of the beloved animated series from Nickelodeon. Aang, the young Avatar, learns to master the four elements in order to restore balance to a world threatened by the Fire Nation.

Avatar: The Last Airbender premieres on Netflix on February 22.
