From Scream VI to Love Is Blind Season 4, Should You Add These To Your Watchlist?

Ghostface is slashing bodies in the Big Apple, while the cast of Love Is Blind is breaking hearts in secluded pods… should you be watching these new movies and shows?

Love Is Blind Season 4

This has to be one of the craziest seasons of Love Is Blind yet!

The show is back for season 4 with bigger drama, higher stakes, and genuinely important discussions on things like race and finance. It felt like we got much more time with the cast than in previous seasons and this is one of the most in-depth we’ve seen a Love Is Blind cast go. An addicting watch, it’s definitely a can’t miss!

Love Is Blind season 4 is streaming on Netflix, with new episodes dropping on Fridays.

Missing

Missing has to be the craziest movie I’ve seen this year!

It follows Storm Reid as a teen looking for her missing mom (Nia Long) when she disappears on a vacation with her new boyfriend. It’s a standalone sequel to Searching and it’s filmed in this fun screen life format that makes you feel like you’re the one searching through phones and computers to solve the mystery.

There’s some wild Easter eggs, including references to Searching and Run, and even a text in the movie from the producer that spoils the whole ending. With crazy twist after crazy twist, Missing will have you screaming at your screen as you try to figure out whodunnit.

Missing is streaming on VOD.

Scream VI

Ghostface is back and taking over the Big Apple!

Scream VI finds the core four from Woodsboro setting up a new life in New York City… that is until Ghostface finds them again. There are some really gruesome and high stakes sequences, like the ladder scene or Gale’s (Courteney Cox) big moment. They tap into the franchise rules with big budget, big cast, but also subverted expectations and do the opposite of what you’d expect at times. While the third act has been controversial for fans, I liked the killer reveal and thought they put a lot of work in over the course of the film. I didn’t mind that they stepped away from some of the classic set ups from the past movies, but the first half was a little slow and there weren’t as many meaningful kills. They also need to go deeper with Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad’s (Mason Gooding) stories.

I love how they explore Sam’s (Melissa Barrera) history as Billy’s (Skeet Ulrich) daughter even further and what that means for her. There’s incredible parallels to the first and second films and it’s intriguing to see how conspiracy theories online have led to Sam being treated as a villain while Sidney (Neve Campbell) was always seen as a victim. Even though Sidney wasn’t in this one, I was okay with that, and feel the core four is a solid new group to follow. All in all, the Scream franchise just gets more bolder and more creative as it goes along.

Scream VI is playing in theaters.

The Last Of Us

Is The Last Of Us as good as everyone says?

The series is based on the popular video game series and finds Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey journeying across a post-apocalyptic America as humanity’s last hope of survival. The casting here was perfection. The show explored both the dangers of the infected and humanity in a really profound way.

I enjoyed how they cast actors from the video game in the show and how they explored characters from the game on a deeper level… but I will say at times it did feel like we were focused on everyone but Joel and Ellie. I think we needed more time with them and more zombies overall. The show has already been picked up for a second season and is one of the biggest launches on HBO to date.

The Last Of Us is streaming on HBO Max.
