Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix)

The cast has been announced for the Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action remake coming to Netflix and it is star-studded with Daniel Dae Kim and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee joining the crew.

Bel-AIr (Peacock)

Bel-Air has been picked up for a two season order on Peacock. The show is a dramatic re-imagining of the 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-AIr that put Will Smith on the map. This new remake was inspired by the short fan film written and directed by Morgan Cooper that dropped on YouTube in 2019. Cooper is executive producing the series.

Coming February 13.

Boo Bitch (Netflix)

Following the success of the To All The Boys franchise, Lana Condor is producing and starring in a comedy limited series for Netflix called Boo Bitch. Lauren Iungerich of On My Block and Awkward serves as a co-showrunner for the series which follows a high school senior who is tired of playing it safe… only to wake up the next morning as a ghost.

Bridgerton Season 2 (Netflix)

Bridgerton season 2 will feature Anthony Bridgerton in his journey to find a wife and uphold the family name. Everything changes when sisters Kate and Edwina Sharma arrive from India. Meanwhile, Penelope struggles to keep her big secret. Plus we’re even getting a Queen Charlotte spin-off in the near future.

Coming March 25.

Cabinet of Curiosities (Netflix)

Cabinet of Curiosities is a new anthology series by Guillermo del Toro coming to Netflix meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. It will feature eight tales dabbling in the macabre, magical, gothic, grotesque, and creepy with actors like Crispin Glover and Essie Davis and creatives like Jennifer Kent who directed The Babadook and Catherine Hardwicke who was behind Twilight.

Charmed Season 4 (The CW)

Things are going to be very different when Charmed returns for a season 4 on the CW. We’ve got a new team of show runners and a brand new actress coming in to complete the power of three following Madeleine Mantock’s decision to leave the show. While we don’t know what to expect, we’ve been getting hints from one of the new showrunners Joey Falco about leprechauns, merman, and magic traveling sandwiches, so I’m crossing my fingers this season will bring some more fun, energy, and magical beings into the show.

Coming March 11.

Chucky Season 2 (Syfy)

Syfy’s Chucky series has officially been picked up for a season 2. I’m dying to know what happens next with this incredible cast of actors and if Andy was able to stop Chucky once and for all. I’m crossing my fingers for more actors from the past, Easter eggs, and background on Charles Lee Ray.

Derry Girls Season 3 (Netflix)

The hilarious Derry Girls follows teenagers growing up in the 90s of Northern Ireland. The third and final season drops later this year.

Euphoria Season 2 (HBO)

Euphoria made huge waves when it dropped in 2019, even making Zendaya the youngest Primetime Emmy winner for her role as Rue. The show returns for season 2 with more intensity than before as Rue continues to find hope while balancing the pressures of love, loss, and addiction.

Coming January 9.

Freeridge (Netflix)

In the spin-off to On My Block, Freeridge will bring us back to the fictional town to follow a new story centered around a new group of friends. The new characters go on a crazy adventure after learning that they may or may not have summoned a deadly curse.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 3 (Disney+)

The Wildcats will be spending the summer at sleepaway camp when High School Musical: The Musical: The Series returns for season 3. With the new tagline “Love is an open door,” it seems like they’re teasing that the next musical they’re performing will be Frozen.

Inventing Anna (Netflix)

I remember reading the article that inspired Inventing Anna when it went viral back in 2018. Led by Julia Garner, the Netflix series follows a journalist trying to chase down Anna Delvey who convinced New York’s elite that she was a German heiress.

Coming February 11.

Locke and Key Season 3 (Netflix)

Locke and Key is one of the best, albeit underrated, shows out there. They filmed seasons 2 and 3 back to back which is lucky for us because season 3 is bound to be full of energy with new big bad coming into play and more history on the Lockes coming to light.

Ms Marvel (Disney+)

I love that in Marvel Phase Four we are meeting these new young heroes that are inspired by the original Avengers… like Kate Bishop and Hawkeye and now Kamala Khan and Captain Marvel. Based on the comics, Ms Marvel follows a Muslim Pakistani-American teen played by newcomer Iman Vellani from Jersey City who writes fan fiction and gains the ability to shape shift. The show will serve as a set up for the 2023 film The Marvels

Secrets of Sulphur Springs follows two teens who discover a secret portal that allows them to travel back in time. In season 2, we’ll learn even more about the history of the Tremont Hotel and uncover more secrets and mysteries.

Coming January 14.

Stranger Things Season 4 (Netflix)

The next chapter of Stranger Things is almost here! Season 4 has a time jump, taking place in the spring of 1986. We’ll be introduced to a new horror while also seeing what Hopper has been up to imprisoned in Russia.

The Afterparty (Apple TV+)

A true crime comedy, The Afterparty is a murder mystery set at a high school reunion afterparty. With Tiffany Haddish, Ben Schwartz, Ilana Glazer, Sam Richardson, and more comedy superstars, each episode is told from a different character’s perspective.

Coming January 28.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (Disney+)

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is a continuation of the iconic Disney Channel series following Penny Proud and her family. The original cast returns with tons of special guests including Lil Nas X, Keke Palmer, Brenda Song, Zachary Quinto, Marsai Martin, Tiffany Haddish, Billy Porter, and Leslie Odom Jr.

Coming February 2022.

Retreat (FX)

From the brilliant team behind The OA — Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij — comes a new whodunnit mystery called Retreat. It follows Gen Z amateur Sleuth Darby Hart who attempts to solve a murder at a secluded retreat.

The Summer I Turned Pretty (Amazon Prime)

From the mind of To All The Boys author Jenny Han comes The Summer I Turned Pretty, a new show adapted by her books of the same name. Led by newcomer Lola Tang, this is a multigenerational drama and a coming-of-age story about love, heartbreak, and the magic of summer.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 (Netflix)

Time travel changed everything for the dysfunctional super family of The Umbrella Academy… and now the Sparrow Academy is coming in season 3.

The Wilds Season 2 (Amazon Prime)

The Wilds followed the complicated lives of girls who get stranded on an island as part of a social experiment. Season 2 is going to take the story to next level especially now that we know these girls weren’t the only ones being watched.

Wednesday (Netflix)

I can’t wait for Netflix’s Wednesday, a new coming-of-age supernatural dramedy focused on Wednesday Addams. Led by Jenna Ortega, this show will focus on Wednesday’s high school years at Nevermore Academy learning to master her powers and solve a mystery that effected her family 25 years ago.
