Discover Your True Nature In The Wild Robot Trailer

The new animated Dreamworks film The Wild Robot follows the adventure of ROZZUM Unit 7134 — Roz for short — as she’s stranded on an uninhabited island and must deal with the harsh surroundings.

The trailer shows a pack of otters curiously touching the abandoned robot before she comes to life. With Lupita Nyong’o rendition of “What A Wonderful World” in the background, this larger than life robot sets out to explore the surroundings including feisty animals, intense waters, harsh blizzards, wildfires, and beautiful butterflies. We see Roz get slashed by a bear, fall into an abyss of fog, and befriend animals in order to survive. Of course, what would he be without adopting an orphaned gosling?! This emotional moment captivates the film’s theme of the unique relationship between nature and technology.

The cast included the wonderful voices of Nyong’o as robot Roz, Pedro Pascal as fox Fink, Catherine O’Hara as opossum Pinktail, Bill Nighy as goose Longneck, Kit Connor as gosling Brightbill, and Stephanie Hsu as robot Vontra. Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames also lend their voices.

The Wild Robot premieres September 30 in theaters.
